SAFW - Suzaan Heyns

Ok so here's the last edit from me for SAFW and Suzaan Heyns was a good choice to end the show. I particularly liked the men's looks, that echoed through to the women's garments all fastened together with long looped belts. You can really tell that Suzaan is a winter gal! I would love one of your men's coats please.

SAFW - Tiaan Nagel

Tiaan's collection was really beautiful! He really payed attention to details with the lines well executed and he really considered his choice of fabrics. I especially liked his shirts with the extended cape at the back of the garment as well as the delicate feathered black dresses folding and unfolding. Tiaan managed to create a  collection with great romantic movement with a really hard sharp quality.

SAFW - Black Coffee

I am so pleased I went to see Black Coffee's show unlike most fashion folk this season, you really all missed out! As I have been doing for every selected show I have and will be going to for IFASHION and POST I have edited what I think is a really beautiful short film of the performance you missed out on.

The performance was drawing out the emotions and influences evoked through Black Coffee's collection this season. The audience was then brought through to Black Coffee's showroom where you could see, tough and try on the collection.

I will credit everyone who was involved once I know.

SAFW - ELLE New Talent Awards

Overal I was impressed to see Elle new talent finalists raising the bar a lot higher this year so well done to all of you but there was one firm winner for me that didn't get the winning prize but completly stole the show. It was obvious enough to put him last but to brave to give him the prize. Imagine if he went first, everything else after would of lacked intensity. A little drum role and a round of appalause for Kutloano Molokomme.

On the other hand Kelly Esterhuyse was the Winner and I know I've stolen her thunder a little but her knits were really amazing and thats why the judges had such a hard choice on picking a winner, definetly my next choice! Using different elements and processes in the making of merino wool Esterhuyse alined these crafted textiles in a very instinctive human skeleton form. A modern day twist on Repunsel.

Have a look at the video I put together for Ifashion and cast your own opinon.

Fleet Ilya is by far one of the only accessory designers, that I can truely say that I wish I made or created what they've done. The images I've posted up are from their show they did in London farely recently.

I am also only now aware that I posted another pony related post and to add a third to make a real pony club camp, Circa gallery have also just opened an exhibiton called 'Horses'.

Anyway, as I was saying...
Fleet Ilya are a married duo from very different parts of the world were they found each other in London with  also very different but very complimentry skills, Graphic Design and Saddel making! PERFECT.

I want one!

The Dynamic duo, Fleet Ilya have most recently collaborated on a new limited edition piece for ‘Cabinet de Curiosities’ by Thomas Erber, an exhibition at Collette, and shot their new ‘Restraint’ campaign with world-famous photographer Rankin. This is my favourite photo from the shoot but just click here if you want to see and read more www.fleetilya.com
They are also exhibiting London, Milan and Paris FW so make sure to check them out if your in the neighbourhood.

"Horsey is an attachable bicycle ornament/accessory which makes one’s bicycle look horsey! the ‘horsey’ package includes wooden ornaments (horsey shape body), metal parts, and screws. The manual is very simple so that anyone can easily arrange it according to one’s needs. Through this ‘horsey’ project. I wanted to give a special look to bicycles so that people would care about cycling not only as transportation but also as a lovely pet".

Miss Milli B (part 1) Interview - Blogging and the Fashion industry

My first ever Interview, film and edit! Say hello to Miss Milli B who I interviewed for my Fashion Media class at Lisof. Milli was the perfect person to guest speak through the interview as she not only was on point and full of interesting chat about blogging and the fashion industry at large but she also owns her own store Mememe in Parkhurst as well as three other jobs. This includes her blog missmillib.blogspot.com which for me is included in the few successful blogs in SA.
It's a long interview so I will feed you part by part so its a little easier to digest.
Thankyou Milli!
